Description

The 4×4 Matrix Array 16-Key Membrane Switch Keypad is a compact input device featuring a 4×4 grid of 16 tactile switches arranged in a matrix configuration for efficient scanning with microcontrollers.
It connects via 8 pins (4 rows and 4 columns) for row-column multiplexing, reducing wiring complexity.
Rated for 35 V DC and 100 mA maximum current, it supports integration with 3.3 V or 5 V logic levels.
The keypad measures approximately 62 mm x 63 mm x 0.8 mm and uses a flexible membrane construction with polyester domes for tactile feedback.
Key specifications include a contact resistance of 10–500 Ω (depending on lead lengths and material), insulation resistance of 100 MΩ at 100 V, and dielectric strength of 250 V RMS (50–60 Hz, 1 minute).
The operating pressure ranges from 170–397 g (6–14 oz), with a switch travel of 0.6–1.5 mm and electric shock jitter under 5 ms.
It offers a lifespan of one million cycles per key and operates reliably from -40°C to +80°C, with storage conditions matching the operating range and humidity tolerance up to 90–95% RH for 240 hours.
Vibration resistance is rated at 20 G maximum (10–200 Hz).
Compatible with Arduino and Raspberry Pi via standard libraries for matrix scanning, it enables numeric and function key inputs.
